In a true small town story, David and Katie met while David and his wife Erica were unloading their car and Katie and her husband Ben were out walking their dog. Katie noticed they had a little girl running around their front yard and could tell that their daughters were roughly the same age. In true “Katie” fashion she stopped immediately and started up a conversation. The usual “Hellos, how are you? We are new to the neighborhood” led to, “want to get together for a playdate”? Yes, Katie was totally trying to “pick up” new friends, being new to the neighborhood and all! Her plan worked and friendship between the families blossomed.
In one of the many play dates that followed, David and Katie found themselves trying to organize and coordinate the upcoming activities schedule when they realized just how many different places they needed to look for information. Katie was on her desk top, David on his laptop, and both on their phones. “There should be a site that just has all this information in one place…” and voila the brainstorming began! The result is the Puzzled Giraffe. They hope you enjoy their labor of love, and it makes planning your little one’s days with their best friend just a bit easier.
David is a stay-at-home dad to his daughter. He has been at home since day one and wouldn’t want it any other way! David is a man who wears many hats. He is very involved in our local government, a Blogger for ‘The Dad Report’, a volunteer firefighter, and the president of our local Moms Club chapter, just to name a few. Let’s talk about someone who likes to stay busy! His best job to date is being a dad. David has spent 30 plus years here in Fairfield and knows the town and it’s residents well.
Katie is a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful daughters, and one energetic puggle, Charley. While completing her degree in Early Childhood Education at Colby-Sawyer College, Katie realized that being a full time parent was a major life goal, and luckily her husband agrees!
In addition to collaborating on the Puzzled Giraffe Katie blogs about cooking on Flex Food Mama and enjoys spending time with her large extended family.
