The mission of Earthplace is to build a passion in our community for nature and the environment through education, experience and action. Earthplace has been based in Westport, CT since 1958 and has grown to include many mission related resources including a state licensed preschool, a natural history museum and Harbor Watch, and a locally renowned water quality research program. Their sanctuary consists of 74 contiguous acres of open space which supports a variety of habitats and several miles of walking trails, including Wheels in the Woods IV, a universal access trail suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. They are also home to live Birds of Prey exhibits and indoor Animal Hall for public viewing. Earthplace works towards their mission every day by providing a diverse continuum of hands-on, nature-based learning experiences throughout childhood and young adulthood.
